PU corrects typographical mistake on student's result card
LAHORE, Sep 5: On the orders of Punjab Ombudsman Abdur Rashid Khan, University of the Punjab had issued roll number slip to a candidate and allowed her to appear in paper-III of MA English Part-II Annual Examination 2007. Roshe Bari lodged a complaint to the Ombudsman Secretariat that after passing MA English Part-I Examination in 2002, she appeared in Part-II Annual Examination 2004 and as per result card, she was shown to have failed in paper-III and declared eligible to reappear for the failed paper in the Annual Examination 2007. In 2007, she sent her admission form but the PU informed her that she was ineligible to appear in Annual Examination 2007 because her last chance to appear was Annual Examination 2006.She said that since her result card said that she should appear in Annual Examination 2007, she should be allowed to appear in the examination. The PU department responded that Roshe appeared in MA Annual Examination 2002 and was declared pass. According to the PU rules, she could avail any of the four chances present to hear after 2002 but as since she had failed to reappear in those four chances, she was ineligible to appear in 2007. The department said that her report card had a typographical mistake; her last chance to appear in the Annual Examination was 2006, not 2007.
