IJT hails removal of Vice Chancellor decision - Hopes new VC to give record uplift to University

PESHAWAR, Sep 7: Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) highly lauded the decision of removal of vice chancellor Prof Dr Haroon Rashid and termed it benefited for the teachers and students community through which restlessness among them was fled away. An emergency called meeting of IJT was held at University of Peshawar under the presidentship of Campus nazim Rafiullah. Several students participated in the meeting. He said that the NWFP governor decision of the VC removal had encouraged the students and teachers of the university and they got rid of the corrupted and unable vice chancellor.

IJT nazim said that the vice chancellor had performed favouritism and nepotism in the appointments of clerical and teaching staff for the university. Pointing towards his irregularities, Rafiullah said that the clear proofs of his corruption were; illegally extension of services in Collegate School, Controller Examination promotion, Registrar appointment, appointment of unable and his choices persons for the post of assistant registrar, illegal recruitment in Chemistry, Geology and Environmental Sciences departments. The vice chancellor neglected the role Syndicate in academics. Embezzlements in construction and giving contracts to own choices people lost Vice Chancellor his seat. He further said that the VC was involved in Roll No. Slips Scandal, he selected people of own choices for M.Phil classes. His illegal and unimportant visits, irregularities in university funds for Bara Gali Summer Camp. Wastage of funded money on the useless students societies, adding that like this other illegal and unlawful acts are included.

IJT nazim said that ban on Dars-I-Quran, baton charge on the students who were holding Mustafa Conference and Welcome Parties, forcefully of exiling of Islamic students from the Campus and against them serious acts had been imposed by the VC, were the main achievements of his goals. Concludingly, he said that the terminated vice chancellor was not only the enemy of Islam and he demoted the university and deimaged it. Hailing the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Javed, the IJT campus nazim hoped from newly appointed VC to take keen interest in the university affairs and solve the students long standing problems and give the university record improvement.
