Entrance test for medical colleges on Sept 23
Lahore, Sep 04: The entrance test for admission to all government and private medical and dental colleges in Punjab for year 2012-13 will be held under University of Health Sciences simultaneously at 20 locations in 12 cities of the province on September 23.
More than 35,000 candidates are expected to take the test and University of Health Sciences has made elaborate arrangements for it.
The University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor, who is also chairman of the admission board, Prof IA Naveed, said the test would be held in Bahawalpur, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan in south Punjab, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sargodha in central Punjab and Rawalpindi and Hassan Abdal in northern Punjab.
He said university administration had been making efforts for holding of the test for the last two months in a successful manner.
He said that the process of holding orientation seminars for students and their parents had also been completed.
Entrance test's date extended: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has extended the last date to submit the entrance test form from September 1 to September 3.
The registration of candidates will also continue on Sunday (tomorrow).
The entrance test will be held simultaneously at 12 different places across the country on September 16.Your Comments
BS students protest against PU
Lahore: Dozens of students enrolled in four-year BS (Honours) programmes in different public colleges of the provincial metropolis protested against Punjab University's authorities on Monday.
The protesting students complained that students enrolled in colleges affiliated with the Punjab University (PU) were facing double standards vis-à-vis examination and studies. They said the varsity had a different pattern of exam for its own students while those studying in affiliated colleges were being examined and taught differently, causing immense problems to them.
The angered students of Government Science College, Wahdat Road, Government Islamia College, Civil Lines College, and Government MAO College, gathered outside Punjab University to protest what they said a wrong and unkind treatment being meted out to them by the university.
The students were of the view that they were feeling stranded ever since they got themselves enrolled in the BS programmes. They demanded the Chief Minister Punjab and the Higher Education Department address the issue at earliest to save their future.
PU admission schedule
Lahore: Punjab University (PU) Examination Department has issued the schedule of admission fee and form for MA Education, Part I & II (Elementary/ Secondary/General), Supplementary Examination 2011 and Annual Examination 2012, which will commence with effect from 26th and 27th of September respectively.
The date of submission of admission form is 10-09-12 with single fee and 12-09-12 respectively. Detailed schedule is also available on PU website www.pu.edu.pk. The news
