MOHAP two years clinical experience requirement
MOHAP(Ministry of Health and Prevention) follows the same Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements(PQR) similar to other health regulatory authorities in UAE(DOH, DHA) for licensing different healthcare professionals in UAE. A unified requirement of minimum 2 years post internship clinical experience must be met by almost all of the healthcare categories, except for certain categories where fresh candidates can also apply. MOHAP also requires this experience requirement to ensure patient safety and that professionals gain hands-on clinical exposure before independent practice in the UAE.
Can internship be counted as clinical experience?
No. Internship is considered as the mandatory postgraduate clinical training period, not as independent clinical practice.
Will this count if I had work experience during internship?
The rule of thumb is, if it was officially an internship, it won't count. If it was licensed, independent work after degree, then it counts.
