In animal experiments, holding the mandible forward with an appliance increases cell proliferation and growth at the condyle, whereas the same type of loading has little effect on an epiphyseal plate of a long bone. What subscribers say
The KDLE Orthodontics Qbank was good preparation for the Kuwait exam. Reviewing wrong answers weekly helped most.
Dr. Gayatri MenonTimed tests helped me pace myself through case-based questions.
Dr. Omer ParachaThe questions on orthodontic materials, wires and brackets were detailed and useful. The questions covered material properties and how they affect tooth movement. It was a useful refresher on topics I don't think about every day.

Questions before you start
Who is eligible to sit the KDLE Orthodontics exam?
Before subscribing, check that you meet the exam board's eligibility criteria:
- Primary dental degree: A recognized BDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree from an accredited institution, plus a completed one-year internship.
- Specialization in Orthodontics: A recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics -- Master's, Diploma, or equivalent -- from an accredited institution, including a recognized residency program.
- Post-specialization clinical experience: MOH Kuwait does not publish a fixed specialist-experience figure publicly; general KDLE licensing (documented for the KDLE General Dentist licensing exam) is generally 5-6 years of post-internship clinical experience, and specialist applicants should confirm their own required years of orthodontics experience directly with MOH Kuwait.
- Confirmed Kuwait job offer: KDLE applications are employer-initiated only -- self-applications are not accepted. You need a confirmed job offer from a licensed Kuwait employer before your application can be submitted.
- Valid license, Good Standing Certificate & verified documents: An active license to practice in your home country (or country of last employment), a recent Certificate of Good Standing, Kuwait Dental Association membership, and authenticated degree/experience certificates verified through MOH Kuwait's document review process.
How do I apply for the KDLE Orthodontics exam?
- Secure a confirmed job offer from a Kuwait-based employer -- self-initiated KDLE applications are not accepted.
- Your employer submits your credentials (authenticated dental degree, postgraduate Orthodontics qualification, experience certificates, passport/civil ID, Kuwait Dental Association membership, photos) to MOH Kuwait's Licensing Department.
- MOH Kuwait reviews your documents and verifies your qualifications for equivalency.
- Complete an interview and medical examination as part of the primary approval process.
- Once approved, schedule your computer-based written exam through Prometric.
- Pass the written exam (60%+) and complete any additional viva/oral component required for your specialist application track.
- Receive your KDLE result and, on passing, your Kuwait dental license -- valid for one year, after which continued practice or renewal requirements apply.
