MOHAP Histopathology Specialty Exam, Eligibility Criteria
To apply for MOHAP(Ministry of Health and Prevention) Histopathology specialty exam, candidates should fulfill the following requirements.
- Qualification: Should have completed MBBS + Any of the postgraduate degree M.D.(Pathology), DM, Board certification.
- Clinical Experience: Should have atleast 2 years post specialization clinical experience. Exemption may apply for candidates having PG degree for countries such as USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland.
- Internship: Should have one year post MBBS internship experience.
- Documents: Should have required documents to apply for the exam.
- Good Standing Certificate: Should have a valid Good Standing Certificate(GSC).
- English translation: Should have all non-English document translated properly.
What is the syllabus for histopathology exam?
The MOHAP Histopathology exam may include the topics such as;
- Histopathology core: tissue processing, staining, artifacts.
- Diagnostic pathology: organs (skin, breast, GI, lung, kidney, etc.).
- Molecular pathology: PCR, FISH, genetic markers.
- Tumor pathology: classification, grading, staging, margins.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): markers, applications.
- Cytopathology: Pap smears, FNAC, body fluids.
- Infectious pathology: granulomas, viral changes, AFB, PAS, GMS.
- Pediatric pathology: congenital anomalies, tumors.
- Lab management & quality control.
- Recent advances: WHO tumor classification updates, digital pathology.
What is the exam pattern for Histopathology exam?
The MOHAP Histopathology specialty exam is MCQs based CBT(Computer Based Testing) conducted by Prometric centers worldwide. It contains about 100-150 MCQs for a duration of 2.5 to 3 hours with a passing rate of 65% to 70%.
