MOHAP Exam Requirements for Doctors (GP, Specialist & Consultant)

What are Requirements for MOHAP GP Exam?

To apply as General Practitioner (GP) for MOHAP exam, one should have;

• Graduated from a recognized medical school listed on Avicenna database (formerly WHO directory of medical school) or the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER).
• Registration and practice license from their home country.
• Atleast 2 years clinical experience after housejob / internship consisting upon not less than one year post-graduation. (For International candidates/Non UAE)
• Clinical experience in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Obs & Gyn, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Cardiology and Critical Care Medicine will be accepted as GP experience.

What are Requirements for MOHAP Specialist & Consultant?

To apply as specialist or consultant for MOHAP (Ministry of Health and Prevention), one should have;

• Graduated from a recognized medical school listed on Avicenna database (formerly WHO directory of medical school) or the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER).
• Completed post-graduation certificate (Master degree / PhD – not less than 3 (three) years course duration) as per recognized specialty certificates. Diplomas are not included. This certificate must be valid (not expired) at the time of applying for MOH exam and must be obtained after a full time structured clinical residency program having 3 (three) years course duration.
• Registration and valid practice license from his/her home country or country of last employment
• No interruption in clinical practice for more than 2 years. Based upon clinical experience, candidate is allocated to different tiers. Specialists with Tier 1 or 2 qualifications are not required to have experience post qualification in the specialty field.

Is DataFlow mandatory for MOHAP exam?

Yes. DataFlow Primary Source Verification is mandatory for all applicants. It verifies:

• educational degree
• internship certificate
• professional license
• clinical experience documents

Without DataFlow approval, candidates cannot proceed to MOHAP exam eligibility.

What are common reasons for MOHAP application rejection?

Common reasons include:

• insufficient experience
• unverified documents in DataFlow
• missing Good Standing Certificate
• incorrect job title
• gaps in clinical practice
• incomplete documentation
• non-recognized institutions
