The DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license which is required to practice in the Emirate of Dubai. Its renewal procedure involves several steps, and it is essential to ensure that you follow the correct process to maintain your professional credentials.
What are Eligibility Requirement & Timeline for DHA license Renewal?
An online application for professional license renewal must be submitted through (Sheryan System) to the HRD within three months prior to license expiry date. The DHA license expiry date is for one year. If not renewed within six months of expiry, the license may be canceled.
What are Required documents for DHA license renewal?
- Current or expired DHA license copy.
- A valid passport, if not updated previously.
- Dataflow PSV, if not updated with the required recent documents, such as valid healthcare license, expereince certificate, and good standing certificate
- New education/ experience/CME can be added
- Medical fitness report for applicant above the age of 65
- Medical logbook specialties, as if clinical gap exceeds two (2) years duration.
What is DHA license Renewal fees?
- Physicians and dentists : 200 AED
- Other categories: 200 AED
The applicant's failure to renew license on time will result in late renewal penalty and might lead to license cancellation (if exceeded for 6 months). Late renewal penalty for Physicians and Dentists is AED 600(Month) upto 6 months and for Nurses and Allied Health is AED 200(Month). Applicants should visit HRD to collect the license. DHA health professionals will be renewed for one year.
What are CME/CPD requirements for DHA license renewal?
Healthcare professionals must complete certain number of CME(Continuing Medical Education) or CPD(Continuing Professional Development) hours before applying for DHA license renewal process.
One must ensure that these CME/CPD hours should be from DHA approved or internationally recognized activities. After uploading your CME/CPD certificate via your DHA Sheryan account, DHA may verify that the CME/CPD hours spend in different activities such as workshops, conferences, online accredited courses, case presentations, etc. are up to their standard. Without CME/CPD required hours, your renewal application may be delayed or rejected by DHA.
- Physicians which may include GPs(General Practitioners) & Specialists should have completed 40 CME/CPD hours per year.
- Dentists which may include General Dentists & Specialists should have completed 40 CME/CPD hours per year.
- Nurses and Midwives should have completed 20 CME/CPD hours per year.
- Pharmacists should have completed 20 CME/CPD hours per year.
- Pharmacists should have completed 20 CME/CPD hours per year.
- Technicians or other Allied Health professionals should have completed 10 CME/CPD hours per year.
