Job Prospects After Passing MOHAP Exam in 2026

MOHAP Job Prospects Quick Summary

Passing the MOHAP exam gets you the evaluation certificate, not a licence or a job: you need an offer from a facility in MOHAP's area (mainly the Northern Emirates), and that facility then applies for your licence (AED 100 plus AED 3,000 for a doctor in a private facility). MOHAP publishes no salary scale, so pay depends on your title, experience, emirate and employer.

Many doctors and nurses assume the hard part ends with the Prometric result. It does not. The pass tells MOHAP you meet the standard for your title; turning that into a working licence needs an employer. This page is about that stage: where a MOHAP pass lets you work, how people actually find the first job, and what decides the salary. Does passing the MOHAP exam give you a licence to work?

No. After the exam (or an approved exemption) MOHAP issues an evaluation certificate. The licence to practise is a separate MOHAP service, and it is requested by the facility, not by you. MOHAP's conditions for that licence include:

  • a valid MOHAP professional evaluation and documents verified by DataFlow;
  • a work invitation that you accept (if you are moving between facilities, the current one must agree);
  • no gap in practice of more than 2 years;
  • a clean professional record for any past UAE work;
  • malpractice insurance and an introductory statement from the facility, plus a physical and mental fitness report from EHS for doctors aged 60 and above.

For private and semi-government facilities the application fee is AED 100 per professional. Private facilities also pay a licence fee of AED 3,000 for doctors and AED 1,000 for nurses and technicians. In practice the employer usually pays these, but read your offer letter.

Where can you work after passing the MOHAP exam?

MOHAP licenses healthcare professionals for the Northern Emirates. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have their own regulators.

An older version of this page said you could only work in MOHAP-operated hospitals. That is no longer accurate: most first jobs with a MOHAP pass are in private facilities, and the federal hospitals are now run by EHS.

How to find a job after passing the MOHAP exam?

STEP 1
Know your exact title
Employers search by title: General Practitioner, Specialist (with PQR tier), Registered Nurse and so on. Put it, with your evaluation certificate details, at the top of your CV.
STEP 2
Apply to facilities directly
Private hospital groups and clinics in the Northern Emirates advertise on their own careers pages, and EHS posts federal vacancies on its own channels. A short, specific email to the HR or medical director often gets further than a portal.
STEP 3
Use job portals and licensed recruiters
UAE job portals such as GulfTalent, Naukrigulf and Indeed UAE carry many healthcare posts. If you use a recruiter, check that it is licensed, and walk away from anyone who asks for money to guarantee a job.
STEP 4
Accept the offer, then the facility applies
Once you accept the work invitation, the facility requests your MOHAP licence and the visa follows. Keep your Good Standing Certificate and DataFlow report handy, as you may be asked for them again.

How soon will you get a job? There is no official timeline. It depends on your title, how many facilities need it at the time, and how flexible you are on emirate and shifts. What is the salary structure after passing the MOHAP exam?

MOHAP does not set private-sector salaries and publishes no pay scale, so be careful with any single figure you read online, including the ranges an earlier version of this page gave. What actually moves the number:

  • Title: General Practitioner, Specialist or Consultant, and for specialists the PQR tier of the qualification.
  • Experience: licensed years after internship, counted by MOHAP from the date your licence was issued.
  • Employer: government, semi-government or private, and the size of the facility.
  • Emirate and package: housing, transport, flights, medical insurance and annual leave can be worth as much as a basic salary difference.

Compare complete offers in writing. Two offers with the same basic pay can be very different once housing and allowances are counted.

Can you move to Dubai or Abu Dhabi later?

Yes, often without a new exam. Under the Unified PQR a valid MOHAP licence can be transferred to DHA or DOH for the same title, provided it has not expired or been cancelled for more than 6 months and you have not used up your attempts. Details are on MOHAP licence transfer to DHA or DOH.

Does passing the MOHAP exam guarantee a job in the UAE?

No. A pass leads to the MOHAP evaluation certificate, which shows you meet the requirements for your title. You still need a job offer from a facility, and that facility applies for your licence. No authority or website can promise a job.

Who applies for my MOHAP licence after I pass?

The facility that hires you. MOHAP's licensing service is requested by the facility, which submits your passport, an introductory statement, malpractice insurance and experience certificate. The fee is AED 100 per application plus AED 3,000 for a doctor in a private facility.

Can I work in Dubai or Abu Dhabi with a MOHAP licence?

Not directly. Dubai is licensed by DHA and Abu Dhabi by DOH. Under the Unified PQR you can usually transfer a valid MOHAP licence to DHA or DOH for the same title without a new exam, as long as it has not expired or been cancelled for more than 6 months.

What salary can a GP expect after passing the MOHAP exam?

MOHAP does not publish a salary scale. Pay depends on your title, PQR tier, experience, the emirate, and whether the employer is government or private, and packages often include housing or allowances. Compare full offers in writing before you accept.

How long is a MOHAP exam pass valid for a job search?

MOHAP's evaluation page does not state a fixed validity for the evaluation certificate. What it does state is that a gap in practice of more than 2 years is not accepted, so keep working while you look for a UAE post and confirm your status with MOHAP if a long time has passed.

There is no fixed time to a job after passing either. Team Interface: MOHAP verifies documents through DataFlow and asks you to upload your previous DataFlow reports, and a DHA licence transfer needs a valid licence (or one expired no more than 6 months). The MOHAP evaluation page does not ask for MOFA attestation, but rules can change, so confirm with the MOHAP call centre (80011111) before you spend on attestation. Whether someone else can submit at MOFA on your behalf is for MOFA to answer.
