How to find job after passing HAAD/DOH exam?
Being a healthcare professional, you are almost half way through to start your career in Abu Dhabi UAE after passing DOH(Department of Health) Abu Dhabi exam, but still you are left with a huge task of finding a suitable employer in healthcare industry. You may find a job through different means such as;
- Directly applying to hospitals & clinics: You may apply by yourself to different government hospitals such as SEHA, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, or apply directly to private setups such as NMC, Medeor, Mediclinic, Burjeel, LLH, Lifecare, Universal Hospital, VPS Healthcare.
- Apply via job portals: You may also apply through various effective job portals such LinkedIn, GulfTalent.com, Indeed.ae, Naukrigulf.com, Bayt.com etc.
- Recruitment agencies: You may also use specialized medical recruiters to help you get connected with hospitals and clinics.
- Networking: This is indeed is mostly used mechanism for finding job through joining LinkedIn groups, medical forums, WhatsApp groups or through attending conferences/job fairs in the UAE.
What are the steps once you get a job offer?
Once you get your job offer from employer then make sure that;
- Your employer issues a job offer letter.
- Your employer will apply on your behalf to convert your DOH Eligibility Letter into a DOH Professional License, to be able to legally practice in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- You will undergo a medical fitness test as well as residency visa stamping process.
- Once your medical license is issued then you may practice with the hired employer in Abu Dhabi.
Do government hospitals hire directly or through agencies?
SEHA(Abu Dhabi Govt.) usually posts on its own portal, but also coordinates with authorized recruitment agencies.

"I am Registered Radiologic Technologist and also a Echocardiographer Technologist/technician here in the Philippines. I want to take an DOH Exam with a category Echo sonographer" which falls in Cardiovascular Technologist/technician. The problem is, the said qualification requires 2 yrs Cardiovascular programmed , which is, I do not have. I have only a Bachelor Degree in Radiologic Technology and Certification of Cardiac Sonographer recognized by the Philippine Society of Echocardiography (I recently recognized as a Fellow Cardiac Sonographer this year).
