What is a DHA Eligibility letter?
A DHA Eligibility Letter is an official approval issued by DHA after:
- Document verification (DataFlow)
- Credential evaluation
- Eligibility assessment for your profession
- Successfully passing the DHA Prometric exam
It confirms that you are eligible to proceed toward licensing in Dubai.
The DHA eligibility letter is:
- NOT a license
- NOT a job offer
- NOT valid across all UAE authorities
- Only valid for DHA system (Dubai)
It is basically permission to proceed inside the DHA licensing pathway.
Can a DHA Eligibility Letter converted to DOH/MOHAP?
Although, DHA eligibility letter is NOT automatically valid for other UAE licensing bodies. If you hold a DHA Eligibility letter, and you wish to work under MOHAP or DOH (Abu Dhabi), you must apply separately to DOH or MOHAP. Your verified documents and DataFlow report can often be reused to speed up other UAE applications.
Having a DHA eligibility letter alone does NOT exempt you from the DOH exam. Exam exemption is only considered in special cases where the candidate already holds;
- An active UAE license
- and a verified clinical practice history.
How to convert DHA Eligibility Letter to DOH/MOHAP?
There is no direct one-click “conversion” of a DHA eligibility letter into DOH or MOHAP eligibility, but you can still reuse your DHA-approved documents, DataFlow report and then separately apply to another UAE authority with an already-prepared file.
- Step 1: Create DOH/MOHAP Account: Apply through the DOH Abu Dhabi licensing portal and create your new DOH account via TAMM Portal. For MOHAP, create a new account through MOHAP licensing portal for a new application.
- Step 2: Choose Same Professional Category: Apply under the same category if possible (i.e. GP, Nurse, Dentist etc), which will help maintain consistency.
- Step 3: Upload Valid Documents: One should have valid DHA Eligibility Letter, DataFlow report, Passport, Education and experience certificates, and Good Standing Certificate.
- Step 4: Request DataFlow Transfer / Reuse: Instead of starting fresh DataFlow process, one should request reuse/transfer of your existing DataFlow PSV report. This may save time, avoid duplicate verification, and simplify process. Sometimes DOH/MOHAP accepts existing PSV directly or asks for partial update/reverification.
- Step 5: Eligibility review & Exam requirement decision: DOH/MOHAP independently reviews your provided documents, clinical gaps, category matching and then decides whether exam is required and additional documents needed. In many normal GP/nurse pathways, DOH/MOHAP exam may still be required.
What Is the Validity of a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Eligibility Letter?
A DHA eligibility letter is generally valid for a limited period, commonly around 1 year from the date of issue. If it expires then you cannot directly activate a DHA professional license until eligibility is renewed/reactivated.
How to Renew / Reactivate DHA Eligibility?
Once your DHA eligibility letter expires then you will be required to follow the given steps.
- Step 1: Log Into DHA Sheryan Account: Access your DHA licensing portal (Sheryan), check for current eligibility status, expiry date, and renewal/reactivation option.
- Step 2: Submit Reactivation/Renewal Request: Depending on DHA system, an eligibility renewal request may be required.
- Step 3: Update Expired Documents: DHA may request updated versions of documents such as Good Standing Certificate, Passport, Professional license, Experience certificates, CPR/BLS certificates (if applicable). You will be required to pay applicable fees.
