DOH Exam Dates Quick Summary

DOH Abu Dhabi does not publish exam dates. You can apply on TAMM at any time of year, and once DOH approves you, you pick any free Pearson VUE date within 6 months of approval. With complete documents, the earliest realistic exam date is about 6 to 8 weeks after you apply.

"When is the next DOH exam?" is one of the questions we get most. The honest answer is that there is no next exam. The DOH (Department of Health, Abu Dhabi) computer-based test runs on demand at Pearson VUE centres, so your exam date depends on how fast your own application moves, not on a calendar. This page is about timing: when you can enrol, how long each stage takes, and how to choose a date you can actually be ready for. Are DOH / HAAD exam dates available online?

Not as a public list. The only place you see real dates is the Pearson VUE booking search that opens from your TAMM application after DOH approves you. It shows the centres that deliver the DOH exam and the seats free on each day. Lists of "DOH exam dates" for a given month on other websites are snapshots of seats that were open at that moment, nothing more.

When can I enroll for the DOH exam?

Any day. There is no intake window and no closing date. You create a UAE PASS account, apply on TAMM, and the clock starts when your documents go to DataFlow for verification. You do not need an agency for any of this.

DOH exam timeline: from application to exam date

These are DOH's own stated time frames from its Licensing Procedure Manual. Real cases are often slower because a university or employer is late answering DataFlow.

Add those up and a clean application reaches approval in roughly 6 weeks. In practice, most candidates we hear from see 2 to 3 months between applying and sitting the exam, once you count document gathering and the gap they leave for revision.

How to pick your DOH exam date

Work backwards. Decide how much study time you need, then make sure your 6-month window covers it. A doctor who starts studying only after approval and needs 3 months still has 3 months of buffer, which is plenty. A doctor who books the first free slot without preparing often ends up rescheduling.

Start studying during DataFlow
Verification takes weeks and needs nothing from you most days. Use that time for revision so you can book early in your window.
Book 3 to 6 weeks ahead
Popular centres fill first. Booking a few weeks out usually leaves a choice of dates and centres.
Leave room for a retake
There is no waiting period between attempts within the window, so an early first attempt gives you time to sit again if needed.
Think about where you sit
You can choose any Pearson VUE centre that offers the DOH exam, at home or in the UAE if you are visiting.

Attempts are limited, so read the DOH retake policy before you choose an early date just to "try it".

Do GP and specialty exams have different dates?

No, but the format and the type of exam differ by title. GPs sit a computer test of 120 MCQs in 2.5 hours. Specialists and consultants in the specialties on DOH's CBT list sit 100 MCQs in 2 hours, and general dentists sit 150 MCQs in 3 hours. All of these are booked the same way, on any free Pearson VUE date.

Other specialist titles sit an oral exam instead of the written test (never both). Oral exams follow DOH's own arrangements, shown in TAMM after approval, and they cannot be rescheduled: you cancel at least 48 hours before and book again. What if I need to change or cancel my date?

For a computer test, you can reschedule through your TAMM application up to 72 hours before the exam without extra cost. If you do not turn up, it is not counted as an attempt, but you lose the booking fee. Everything has to happen inside your 6-month window. When is the next DOH exam date?

There is no fixed next date. DOH computer-based exams run throughout the year at Pearson VUE centres. After DOH approves your TAMM application, you choose any free date within 6 months.

How soon after applying can I sit the DOH exam?

DOH's stated time frames are 24 working days for DataFlow verification and 5 working days for DOH review, so about 6 weeks with complete documents. Many candidates take 2 to 3 months in total because of slow institutions and revision time.

Can I book a DOH exam date before DataFlow is complete?

No. The Pearson VUE booking link appears in TAMM only after DOH approves you for the exam, and approval comes after verification. You can start preparing during DataFlow.

What happens if my 6-month window ends before I sit the exam?

The exam step is tied to your approval, so once the window closes the application cannot continue and you would need to apply again. Choose a date well inside the window and keep time for a possible reschedule.

What is the passing percentage for the DOH exam?

DOH reports results as PASS or FAIL only and does not publish a percentage score for candidates. Our DOH passing score page explains how results are reported.
