MOHAP dentist eligibility criteria and registration process
To become MOHAP(Ministry of Health and Prevention) licensed dentist, one must meet the eligibility criteria and complete the registration process. Many of the dentists are required to appear in Prometric based exam, unless meeting exemption criteria given by MOHAP.
What is General Dentists & Specialist Dentists exemption criteria?
General dentist can be exempted from MOHAP(Ministry of Health and Prevention) Prometric exam, if he has passed specific recognized international dental exams such as;
- AMC (Australian Dental Council) exam - all parts
- NDEB (National Dental Examining Board of Canada) - all parts
- Irish Dental Council Exam (I & II), or registration with Irish Dental Council
- NZDREX(New Zealand Dental Registration Exam), or registration with NZ Dental Board
- ORE (UK Overseas Registration Exam) - all parts, but the pass should not be older than 5 years.
Specialist dentist can be exempted from MOHAP(Ministry of Health and Prevention) Prometric exam, if he has passed specific recognized international dental certifications such as;
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Australia / NZ)
- Evidence of passing the National Dental Specialist Examination (NDSE) in Canada
- Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Ireland (for e.g. Orthodontics, Oral Surgery), and inclusion in Irish Dental Council Specialist Register.
- American Board of Dental Specialties (USA), but only those boards approved by the American Dental Association are acceptable.
