DHA Dubai exam for Pharmacist 2025 - Eligibility Requirements
Pharmacists who wish to work in the Emirate of Dubai should fullfil eligibility requirements and pass DHA pharmacy exam. The good thing about Dubai (DHA exam) for international candidates is that there is no arabic exam as with the other health ministries of UAE.
A candidate should have Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy recognized in home country and active License/Registration to practice pharmacy. Minimum of two years' experience as Pharmacist needed.
In order to gain license to practice pharmacy, applicants will be required to complete two stages of examinations.
What is DHA Pharmacy Exam Format?
During this Prometric exam, questions will cover broadly most area of pharmacy, clinical, pharmacology, therapeutics, pharmacy calculations, over the counter medicines and patient counseling. The test duration is about 2.5-3 hours with a passing score of 60% or above. A multiple choice exam based on UAE federal pharmacy law and the UAE code of conduct for pharmacists.
How many attempts are allowed for DHA Pharmacy Exam?
A candidate is allowed to attempt DHA exam for upto three times.
What is the scope of Pharmacist after passing DHA Exam?
The Emirate of Dubai offers broader job prospects to Pharmacists after passing the DHA licensing exam. You can always start your career in Dubai as registered Pharmacist in any private/government hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, or community pharmacy which is the most common entry point for expat pharmacists which usually offers low salary comparatively to other pharmacy roles.
Although freshers may face some challenges while finding first job in Dubai, but once you enter in the system then there are always growing opportunities to excel your jobbing career. Community pharmacy jobs are often easier to find, but with UAE experience, moving to hospital jobs is possible.
What is the Salary structure of Pharmacist after passing DHA Exam?
The salary structure for Pharmacist may vary in Dubai as per the pharmacy role you opt to;
- Hospital Pharmacist - AED 8,000 – 15,000(Monthly)
- Clinical Pharmacist - AED 12,000 – 20,000(Monthly)
- Community Pharmacist - AED 5,000 – 8,000(Monthly)
- Pharma Companies - AED 10,000 – 18,000(Monthly)
